1. Who we are

Birdie Backers, Inc. ("Birdie Backers," "we," "us," or "our") operates birdiebackers.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@birdiebackers.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and role (Supporter or Golfer). Golfer profiles may also include hometown, biography, tournament schedule, and photo.

Payment information: Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We receive limited billing metadata (last 4 digits, expiration, billing zip) from Stripe.

Usage data: We collect standard web analytics including pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, and device/browser type. We use Vercel Analytics for this purpose. We do not build individual behavioral profiles.

Communications: If you contact us via email or our contact form, we retain that correspondence.

Golfer performance data: Golfers may voluntarily submit tournament results, earnings, and other career data to their profiles.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and improve the Birdie Backers platform • Process membership payments and manage subscriptions • Send transactional emails (receipts, subscription confirmations, password resets) • Send platform notifications and golfer updates (can be opted out) • Respond to support requests • Monitor for fraud and enforce our Terms of Service • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

4. Sharing your information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: We share data with Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), and Vercel (hosting and analytics) as necessary to operate the platform. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.

Golfer-Supporter relationships: If you subscribe to a Golfer's membership, that Golfer can see your display name and membership tier. They cannot see your payment information, email address, or any other personal details unless you choose to share them.

Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Birdie Backers or others.

Business transfers: If Birdie Backers is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., payment records, which we retain for 7 years).

6. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary to operate the platform, including session cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, but some features of the platform may not function correctly without them.
